Abstract

The research objective was to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and empowerment on the performance of employees of PT. SuaraMerdeka Press Semarang with organizational commitment as a mediating variable. Samples used by production employees of PT. SuaraMerdeka Press Semarang totaling 267 people. Data analysis used multiple linear regression analysis and mediation test using the Sobel test. The results of the study concluded (1) emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment of employees of PT. SuaraMerdeka Press Semarang, (2) Empowerment has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment of employees of PT. SuaraMerdeka Press Semarang, (3) Emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees of PT. SuaraMerdeka Press Semarang, (4) Empowerment has a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees of PT. SuaraMerdeka Press Semarang, (5) Organizational commitment has a positive and significant effect on the performance of employees of PT. SuaraMerdeka Press Semarang, (6) Organizational commitment is a mediating variable of the influence of emotional intelligence on the performance of employees of PT. SuaraMerdeka Press Semarang, and (7) Organizational commitment is a mediating variable the effect of empowerment on the performance of employees of PT. SuaraMerdeka Press Semarang.
